Macsim Cargo Services
Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 29, 2026
1. Overview
Macsim Cargo Services operates a mobile application and website used to manage cargo loads, dispatch operations, driver assignments, and proof-of-delivery workflows. This policy explains what data we access, collect, use, and share when you use our services.
2. Information we collect
We may access or collect the following categories of data:
- Account details such as name, phone number, and role.
- Driver and staff profile details needed for transport operations and payments.
- Load information such as destinations, pickup points, empty return depots, and assigned vehicles.
- Documents and images uploaded in the app, including delivery notes and EIR records.
- Precise location data from drivers while they are on duty and using Macsim operational features.
- Background location data from drivers with active assigned loads when permission is granted.
- Device and diagnostic information needed to secure the service and resolve issues.
3. How location data is used
Macsim collects and transmits precise location data to support live dispatching, verify proximity to pickup points, monitor active trips, improve route coordination, and provide load-status visibility to authorized company personnel.
Background location is only intended for drivers with active assigned loads. When enabled, location may be collected while the app is open and, for active loads, while the app is closed or not in use until the trip is completed or no longer active. If background location permission is denied, some trip-tracking and booking features may not work correctly.
Location data is transmitted to Macsim systems over network connections so that authorized dispatch, operations, and administrative personnel can monitor load progress and manage transport workflows.
4. How we use personal data
- To create and manage user accounts.
- To publish, assign, and track cargo loads.
- To support dispatch, delivery, and return workflows.
- To process operational records and payment-related workflows.
- To improve service reliability, security, and fraud prevention.
- To communicate important service or operational updates.
5. Sharing of data
We may share data with service providers that help us run our systems, such as hosting, storage, authentication, mapping, notifications, and payment providers. Within Macsim, personal data and location data may be made available to authorized dispatch, operations, finance, and administrative personnel strictly for operational and compliance purposes. We may also share data when required by law or to protect our legal rights and operations.
6. Data retention
We retain data for as long as necessary to operate the service, maintain business records, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Location records, account records, load records, and uploaded operational documents may be retained for dispatch history, safety, fraud prevention, audit, payroll, or legal compliance purposes.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect the information we process. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your choices
You can control certain permissions through your device settings, including location permissions. You may also contact us to request updates to account information or to ask questions about this policy.
Macsim user accounts for drivers and staff are provisioned by company administrators rather than self-created inside the app. If a working relationship ends or access should be restricted, Macsim may deactivate the account and retain relevant records where needed for legitimate operational or legal reasons.
